Feeling called to help the pro-life movement with public policy issues

Want to ensure pro-life bills pass at the State Capitol in Austin and in DC?

Then the Catholic Action Team (C.A.T.) is for you!  You don't have to be an expert or have a background in politics or political issues.

Our next training is Saturday, July 18th, 2009 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church in Richardson.  Register online now!

The Catholic Action Team exists to mobilize and train Citizen Volunteers to pray for and monitor the activities, votes and statements of our elected officials, to keep in contact with them via e-mail, letters and phone calls and to visit them in-person for the purpose of enacting pro-life legislation.

Each CAT citizen volunteer will be assigned to one or more elected officials in their district to report on their activities.

Catholic_Action_Team_Small.JPGLegislators tell us that they need to hear from their constituents when they are attempting to pass pro-life laws.  The more they hear from us the better.  Despite the valiant efforts of pro-lifers in Austin, not one piece of pro-life legislation (with the exception of some funding for adult stem-cell research) was passed in the Texas Legislature in 2007 even though we had a pro-life Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Speaker of the House and a pro-life majority in both the House and the Senate.

This happened because not enough people are involved in the legislative process, not enough voices were heard and not enough pressure was brought to bear on our elected officials.
