Youth For Life will hold approximately 3 tamale sales at different parishes. Students and chaperones going on the trip can earn money towards their trip fee by working one or more of these sales.

The following are some ideas to get you going on your fundraising for the trip.

Send a letter letter about the trip to friends and family asking them to sponsor you as you March for Life! It is a great opportunity to let your family and friends know of your passion for life and to also let them know about the March.

Check with the following church organizations about possible sponsorship: Knights of Columbus, Youth Ministry, Men's Club, Women's Club, Parish Council, Pro-Life Club, Legion of Mary, etc, Be prepared to return from the trip and share pictures and experiences with the organizations that help sponsor you. This is another great opportunity to spread the message of life within your parish.

Ask your community for help by calling local organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and even your school.

Whatever you choose, don't delay! Get busy and involve as many people in your trip as possible. Be sure to plan on letting them know about the trip when you return! Good Luck and God Bless!

I wanted to tell you about an exciting opportunity that I have to support life. This year is the 38th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in the United States. Since that time 50 million babies have been killed – more than 50 every day in Dallas alone.

This year I am hoping to go to Washington, D.C., for the 38th annual March for Life on January 24, 2011. I will be going with Youth For Life, the youth ministry of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas. We will join together with tens of thousands of other people in prayer in our nation's capital in support of life.

I feel that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I would very much like to take part in as a high school student. I want to make a difference in the fight to save the unborn.

Our group is traveling by plane so that we miss the minimum amount of school (only two days). I would like to ask for your prayers as we make this pilgrimage. Each individual is also responsible to raise the money to cover the cost of the trip, so I am asking for your help. The cost of the trip is $600 per person, which includes airfare, lodging, most meals and transportation costs in D.C. Any amount would help greatly as we embark upon this awesome experience. A tax-deductible receipt from the Catholic Pro-Life Committee will be mailed to you if you are able to donate any amount to sponsor us in our witness for life in Washington. Please include a note that I contacted you and that your donation is in support of the 2011 YFL March for Life Trip. All donations must be received by January 8, 2011.
