The CPLC has been called the largest and most effective diocesan pro-life organization in the world—and a model for the nation. Made up of nine individual ministries, more than 25 staff and an annual budget of $750,000, the CPLC has a pro-life outreach to hundreds of thousands of people in North Texas. Garnett was the first in the nation to hire and train missionary sidewalk counselors as part of a diocesan respect life ministry. She built a solid, grassroots-based organization that has brought the pro-life message to the churches and schools of the Diocese of Dallas, saving a countless number of children’s lives in the process. Legatus is a Catholic lay organization of over 4,000 executives and their spouses committed to the ideals of fidelity, courage and integrity. Thomas Monaghan, former owner of Domino’s Pizza and the Detroit Tigers baseball franchise, founded Legatus in 1987. The Pro-Life Hall of Fame Award honors of the late New York prelate who was a leader in the struggle to promote a culture of life.
