Dear Parish Pro-Life Coordinator,

Greetings and blessings! The Fall 40 Days for Life-Dallas ended on October 31. I’m happy to report that over 4,000 prayer volunteers turned out during the campaign, and countless more hearts have been converted by this awesome witness for life. I want to thank all the Parish Pro-Life Coordinators for your efforts in getting your parishioners out to pray; it was also good to see so many of our clergy there.

As you all know, last Saturday, November 27, was the Holy Father’s worldwide Vigil for All Nascent Human Life. We were energized by the wonderful response in the Diocese of Dallas to Bishop Farrell's request for parish participation. If you were able to attend a local Vigil for Life, we would love to hear about the one in which you participated. Please send us your thoughts and experiences during the Vigil, as well as any pictures or videos your church might have of the event, to cplc@prolifedallas.org. You have another opportunity to participate in a national prayer event on December 8-9 during the 21st Annual National Night of Prayer for Life at various parishes. Click here for locations.

As we begin the Advent season, we not only look forward to the coming of our Lord, but also the new year and all it has to offer. Our theme for the 2011 Bishop's Annual Pro-Life Dinner, which has inspired our entire outlook on the new year, to bring about the end to abortion, is "It's Time for the Miraculous." Our first chance to evidence our faith in the "greater miraculous" will be the Roe v. Wade Memorial Rosary, Mass, and Dallas March for Life and Rally on January 22, 2011. The 2011 Roe Memorial will commemorate the 38th anniversary (to the day) of the tragic decision by the U.S. Supreme Court legalizing abortion in our country and leading to the death of over 50 million children.

Our Bishop has called on all of us to increase the impact of this day. Over 6,000 devoted pro-lifers took to the streets at the 2010 Dallas March for Life. The Bishop has called for 10,000 this year. Your role as Parish Pro-Life coordinators is integral to increasing the participation of all our parish families, especially our youth. (We'd love to see buses there from every parish school!) Please be sure to talk to your pastor as soon as possible about participation and promotion of this event in your parish with flyers, as well as bulletin and pulpit announcements. We are also preparing a special poster for the Roe Memorial Events, which we will provide before the year's end. We look foward to working with each of you to continue and expand the historic tradition of this event. Because - It's Time for the Miraculous!

Finally, please mark your calendar for the next Parish Pro-Life Coordinator meeting on Saturday, February 19, 2011. The location of this meeting will be announced in the next mailer.
