Dear Parish Pro-Life Coordinator

Greetings and blessings!  Preparations for next weekend's Bishop’s Pro-Life Dinner are well underway.  Let’s keep up the good work so that we can set a record again this year.  There's still room so please be sure you have:

1) Contacted your pastor and asked him how many parish tables he would like to reserve;

2) Placed announcements and dinner flyers in your church bulletin and on bulletin boards and entrances;

3) Asked leaders of other parish ministries to donate and assemble a basket for the Silent Auction;

4) Sold Bishop’s Dinner Raffle tickets - the Grand Prize is a brand new 2011 model Camry;

5) Called the CPLC office, 972-267-LIFE (5433), and volunteered to help - remember, many hands make light work!  Everyone can do something!  We are especially in need of help next Friday, April 9, to assemble bidder packets and transport Silent Auction items to the Anatole.  Please call to let us know if you can help!

Special congratulations to the 2010 Pro-Life Honorees:  Daniel Cardinal DiNardo - The Bishop Grahmann Award for Exemplary Pro-Life Leadership; Reverend David Allen & The Pro-Life Community at St. Francis Anglican Church (which includes our friends Kevin McNevins, Debbi Blocker, and Rebecca Thompson) - Father Edward Robinson, O.P., Pro-Life Persons of the Year; The Bishop's Five-Point Plan Awards: Prayer - Karen Mathers, Parish Pro-Life Coordinator, St. John the Apostle, Terrell; Education - Gretchen Montgomery, Principal, Mount St. Michael Catholic School; Public Witness - Ronda Moreland, Parish Pro-Life Coordinator, St. Thomas Aquinas; Civic Action - Andrew Rivas, Executive Director, Texas Catholic Conference; Supportive Services, Carolina Salazar, Project Gabriel/GEMS Parenting Options Advisor.

We also congratulate Bishops-elect Doug Deshotel and Mark Seitz, who will be ordained Auxiliary Bishops for the Diocese of Dallas on April 27.  The pro-life community is invited to participate in giving them a Spiritual Bouquet as they begin their episcopal ministries.  If you would like your prayers and offerings to be included in the bouquet, please email them to cplc@prolifedallas.org by April 26th.

Our Quarterly Parish Coordinator Meeting was held on February 13 at St. Rita. We had a good crowd and lots of great parish reports.  Our executive director, Karen Garnett, paid us a visit and brought us up to date on January’s awesome Roe v. Wade Mass and Dallas March for Life, the importance of perseverance and, most especially, prayer, and the latest action items from the USCCB.

Please make note of these special events:

    *  March 30:  "Celebrando la Vida" ("Celebrating Life"), a one-hour live weekly call-in radio show from 4-5 p.m., was launched on the Spanish Guadalupe Radio Network (KJON 850 AM), hosted by our own CPLC Director of Spanish Ministry Aurora Tinajero!

    *  April 2: Good Friday Pro-Life Stations of the Cross at Southwestern late-term abortuary, led by Fr. Paul McCormick, O.Cist.

    *  April 10: The Bishop’s 17th Annual Catholic Pro-Life Dinner, hosted by Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell, featuring keynote speaker Daniel Cardinal DiNardo and special guest Abby Johnson

    *  April 15:  Special Session & Luncheon for Clergy and Ministry Leaders at the "Hope for Life" National Conference being held at the Marriott/DFW North in Dallas.  Bishop-elect Mark Seitz will be on the Pastors' Panel.  Special price for this session/luncheon: $35.00.  To register go to www.operationoutcry.org.  Rachel Ministries Director Caryn Stevens will also be presenting during the conference.

    *  April 17: Quarterly Mass & Procession from St. Jude, Allen, to North Park abortuary, followed by a talk by Rita Diller, National Director of STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood International)

Thank you for all you do for life.

God Bless,

Jim Walker
