Abortion AfterCare-Healing
After an abortion, a woman typically experiences deep emotional and spiritual pain. She may carry her burden in silence for years, sometimes engaging in further harmful behaviors — often another abortion — in an effort to deny its reality. Though her faith may assure her that God forgives those who seek His forgiveness, she often struggles to fully accept it. Abortion AfterCare-Healing, the post-abortion ministry of the CPLC, is an affiliate of the respected international programs Project Rachel and Rachel's Vineyard.™ Through the sacraments, retreats, support groups and referrals to professional counseling, AAC-H offers healing to anyone who has been hurt by an abortion experience. The ministry provides training for clergy and mental health professionals. It also networks with counselors and other providers of post-abortion expertise. A call to the confidential helpline results in an appropriate referral, which may include making a Rachel's Vineyard™ retreat. The retreat offers spiritual and psychological healing to help the wounded person grieve the loss of the unborn child and accept God's forgiveness. Many describe it as a profound experience of love and renewal, of being brought back from death to new life.
