24 September-November 2 40 Days for Life-Dallas
Aaron's abortion center was the site of the nation's 2nd 40 Days for Life Vigil back in December 2004-January 2005. And now it has closed! We participated in last year's National 40 Days for Life campaign, and we are SO excited for this year's national campaign that is happening in 179 cities across 47 states from September 24 - November 2. With God's help, this could mark the beginning of the end of abortion in America! 40 Days for Life is made up of the following components: PRAYER AND FASTING, PEACEFUL VIGIL, AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH. The most visible component of our 40 Days for Life-Dallas campaign will be the 40-day prayer vigils outside two local abortion centers: Planned Parenthood, 7424 Greenville Ave., Dallas; and Robinson's, 1929 Record Crossing, Dallas. Our vigils will be held 24 hours a day/seven days a week. To sign up for our vigils, please CLICK HERE, or contact: Vigil Coordinator, Planned Parenthood abortion center: Kevin Kukla, 972-339-8123, kkukla@prolifedallas.org; Vigil Coordinator, Robinson's abortion center: Maurice Moon, 214-927-9382, mmoon@prolifedallas.org; Dallas Campaign Director: Antoinette Wilson, 972-217-0616, awilson@prolifedallas.org. For more information, and to sign up for prayer hours, please visit www.40daysforlife.com/dallas.

26 September-October 19 Mobile Sonogram Unit at State Fair of Texas
This is a new initiative of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center in partnership with The LifeSavers Foundation that will be launched in November. It is based on a successful unit that has been run in the Akron, Ohio, area for the last three years. Their big debut will be at the State Fair of Texas to build awareness in the community. They will not be performing sonograms, but will be giving out the schedule and allowing people to take a look inside. The RV will be parked near the Midway. Two or three volunteers are needed daily for two different shifts: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00-10:00 p.m. Prestonwood Pregnancy Center is offering a carpool from their location at 15757 Coit Rd. (at Arapaho), Suite 308, Dallas 75248. All who ride in the carpool will not have to pay for Fair admission or parking.
Prestonwood Pregnancy Center has coordinated with the State Fair to conduct "Diaper Drive Fridays" on October 3 and October 17. If Fairgoers bring a package of diapers, they will get in for $1.00. Volunteers will simply stand by the entrance, collect diapers, and give people a coupon to get into the Fair for $1.00. Volunteers will not be required to go through training for this, and admission is free for these volunteers. On these two days, three volunteers are needed at each of the 7 gates for two different shifts: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Contact Heather Huber, 972-386-4015, or hhuber@prestonwood.org. 19 Candidate Forum
"A candidate forum can be an excellent format for educating voters about the candidates . . . and is a valuable way of encouraging civic participation and helping voters learn about the candidates and the issues. "(www.faithfulcitizenship.org)
Where do the candidates stand on the issues? This is a common election year question and one of the ways in which we attempt to address it this year is with a Candidate Forum.
A Candidate Forum gives us the opportunity to bring the candidates for any and all offices together and ask them a series of questions about issues that concern the Church. In the forums, issues from abortion to euthanasia, immigration to education and everything in between will be covered.
The first Candidate Forum will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 5:00 pm at St. Anthony Church in Wylie, 404 N. Ballard. This event will be free of charge and all are invited to attend.
All Candidates who participate in the forum will be asked the same questions to ensure the event is non-partisan.
All forum Candidates answers will be recorded and the videotape will be uploaded to this web page and distributed to our weekly e-alert list. For more information, contact Andrew Smith at 972-267-LIFE (5433) or asmith@prolifedallas.org.
