Mission Statement

That Gabriel clients develop a

greater appreciation of their self-worth and God-given abilities;

gain knowledge and skills to become more self-sufficient;

and become motivated to make better life choices

for themselves and their babies.

GEMS Academy Goal

To offer mothers instructional modules in character-building and life skills, and encourage them to set personal and professional goals,
while completing course work toward graduation. 

WHAT IS GEMS?

 ~ Gabriel Education Ministry & Support (GEMS) extends the ministry of Project Gabriel by offering mothers opportunities to learn more about themselves, about their Christian faith, about being better parents, and about gaining the knowledge and skills to help them take their place in the larger world of work, education and service.

WHY GEMS?

~ Gabriel moms receive timely intervention and compassionate mentoring when facing a crisis pregnancy.  

~ It is estimated that 1 in 4 unmarried Gabriel moms will face another crisis pregnancy within three years.  Clearly, these moms need additional guidance and support after they have their babies.  

~ GEMS arose to address a very real need – namely, the need for women to develop self-esteem, realize their God-given abilities, and be    more empowered to learn and make good choices.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR GEMS?

~ The GEMS Academy is open to any woman served by Project Gabriel who is “poised for growth,” and recommended by her Angel and the Gabriel Angel Coordinator.  To receive assistance from her personal coach, as well as the incentives and rewards offered by the GEMS Academy, she agrees to complete the required modules (or their equivalents) and have the goal of graduating from the program.

~ GEMS candidates need not be a certain age, but must be in a position to make choices and set personal goals without severe restrictions placed by parents, civil authorities, physical or mental health.

On behalf of everyone on the Project Gabriel/GEMS team, we welcome you!

We believe that GEMS is unlike anything you may have experienced.  Choosing our ministry will be an important first step for you.  Here you will find warm and caring people who will focus on you as a person in a spirit of Christian charity and friendship.  Your journey will bring you to new awareness and understanding, and hopefully to fuller, richer life for you and your children.

GEMS flows out of Project Gabriel, an outreach to pregnant mothers in crisis.  The program, which we call the GEMS Academy, is designed to help Project Gabriel moms, who are “poised for growth,” ready to take their place in society.  

Our team has trained professionals and volunteers who desire to share their faith, knowledge, skills, stories, and experiences with you.  Our mission is to affirm your worth as a child of God, and to help you realize the great potential you have as a woman and a mother to change your life and the lives of others.  We pledge to help you discover your own gifts, as you build character and become more confident and self-sufficient.

Again, welcome to GEMS.  As you begin your journey, we encourage you to step out   in faith and trust, knowing that God’s will for you is perfect.  We pray that your time with GEMS will be fruitful.
