Dear Coordinator,

Greetings and blessings to you. “WOW!” That says it all about the greatest Bishop’s Dinner ever in all categories: 2,075 people in attendance, over $300,000 in pledges and gifts, $48,000 in silent auction revenue, $58,000 from our first-ever car raffle, the most volunteers, the most parishes buying dinner tables, a “grand slam” keynote address from Fr. Pavone, on and on the good news goes. So many people played leadership roles in the dinner that I just can’t name them all, but an extra-big thanks goes to Ellen Rossini, our Development Director, and Tanya Feenstra, Event Coordinator. Ellen and Tanya put together a great team that just took charge and got things done. Be sure to visit the CPLC web site for some great photos of the Dinner.

On behalf of the CPLC I want to thank you for your efforts in buying dinner tables and so many of you soliciting items and supplying baskets for the Silent Auction. I am really proud as the Director of Parish Coordination that so many people thanked me for your participation. I can’t wait till next year, as I know you will do an even greater job! Please be sure to mark your calendar for the annual Appreciation Picnic on June 14th (see enclosed flyer) – this is our annual special thank-you to YOU!

We have a major event coming up and I hope you will all promote it and attend. The 4th annual “Do No Harm: Morals in Medicine Conference” featuring Dr. Angela Lanfranchi will be held on Saturday, May 10, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 411 Paula Rd in McKinney. ParCoors will hear an especially urgent message regarding Planned Parenthood and its connection to the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s “Race for the Cure.” You won’t want to miss a talk that will impact so many women and men in our culture today. See the enclosed flyer for details.

Our next Parish Coordinator Meeting will be held Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m. until noon at St. Francis Anglican Church, 3838 Walnut Hill Ln in Dallas. Please make every effort to attend or send a representative from your parish. Also don’t miss the 25th Annual Cemetery of the Innocents Service on May 18th – this year’s will be an extra-special observance – see the enclosed flyer for details.

I pass on to all of you the gratitude of our Executive Director Karen Garnett for your prayers for her as she traveled to Washington for the arrival ceremony for the Holy Father on April 16th at The White House and the Papal Mass on April 17th. She took all of you with her in her heart and prayers – see www.prolifedallas.org for pictures and her blog postings. Praise God for the fruit to be borne from Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to America! God bless, and we’ll see you at the meeting on the 17th!

For Life,

Jim Walker

Director of Parish Coordination
