Vanessa Preston

Vanessa Preston

An article from the Dallas Morning News tells the story of a woman, 22-year-old Vanessa Preston from Paris, Texas, who came to the now-closed Fairmount abortion center with her husband and young child for an abortion on January 22, 1980.

The story in the newspaper is short, and does not give much detail but one of the very disturbing quotes is from Curtis Boyd, the man who performed the abortion on Ms. Preston and who now runs the new late-term abortion facility in North Dallas, who said in the article, “we do know that abortion deaths have occurred in the past, and they will occur in the future.”

We mourn the death of Vanessa Preston and call on the Christian community in Dallas to speak publicly about the need to end this horrible, useless tragedy.

If we do not speak up, then we are all too afraid that the words of Curtis Boyd will come true, and that more woman will die needlessly at the hands of an abortionist.
