If you’ve ever wondered:

In this harsh political climate, how can I have a civil conversation about the issues?

I know who I’m voting for ... what else is there?

Since no political party fully represents Catholic values, what does it mean to be a faithful citizen?

Is the Church getting too political?  Should we just pray instead?

How can I share the truth with my family and friends without creating conflict?

... then you need to come to the Render Unto Caesar Conference on Saturday, Sept. 8

Click here for required registration.  You’ll get the answers to your questions, plus...

Hear the shocking story of a baby girl who was aborted in Dallas and survivedfrom the survivor herself, Angela Balderaz!
This dynamic native Texan will share her journey and her passion to help our country heal from the effects of Roe v. Wade.
*In case the registration price was standing in your way, we were able to reduce it!  The reduced price for registration is $15 per person, and $20 per couple (includes one set of materials, continental breakfast & lunch).

Mother Of Woman Who Died After Abortion Sues Planned Parenthood, Hospital
By CBS Chicago

The mother of a 24-year-old woman who died after an abortion in July filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against Planned Parenthood of Illinois and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. . . . Dorsey Johns, Reaves’ mother, claims staff at the Planned Parenthood clinic “carelessly performed” the elective abortion and failed to properly monitor and assess her daughter’s condition after the procedure, according to the suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.  The suit further claims the clinic did not do enough to stop Reaves’ bleeding, and that staff members failed to adequately warn an on-call doctor about the potentially life-threatening condition.  Read entire article

HHS revises mandate third time; foes say it misses the point
By Catholic News Agency

A slight revision of the federal contraception mandate offers some additional protection for certain religious employers but is not sufficient to ease religious freedom concerns, said a lawyer who is working to challenge the mandate in court.

Hannah Smith, senior counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, . . . explained that for the third time in seven months, the federal government has rewritten the guidelines for the “safe harbor” that offers a one-year reprieve from the mandate to some non-profit religious organizations that object to its demands. . . She explained that the safe harbor is merely a 12-month “delay tactic” that will postpone “the inevitable conflict that will arise” between government and religious organizations that object to the mandate.  Read entire article

A Catholic View: In-Vitro Fertilization, the Human Cost
By Arland Nichols, LifeNews.com

It can be difficult initially to understand why the Church opposes procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). The Church teaches that children are the “crowning glory” of marriage. “Why oppose something that allows couples to bring new babies into the world?” . . . . Unspoken is that most human beings created in the laboratory will die before even given a chance. It is commonly estimated that only one in six embryos created following IVF will make it to birth. However, the numbers published by Britain’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority may be more accurate. In July of 2011 Britain announced that for every child born by IVF thirty embryos were created. . . . [T]he beautiful images of babies, slogans about “building families,” and the pristine walls of the typical fertility clinic hide this harsh reality from would-be parents.  Read entire article.
