Prepare for the Election – In the Words of the Bishops

What would it look like for the Catholic community in the United States to "win" an election? On the surface it may seem unsuitable for people of faith to ask such a question. Regardless, it is a question that many seem to be asking in some form or another nowadays, and it is one for which we should have an answer. – Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr

Vote Our Catholic Values on November 6 (Early Vote Now!)

Archbishop Charles Chaput: "We're Catholics before we're Democrats. We're Catholics before we're Republicans. . . . We're even Catholics before we're Americans, because we know that God has a demand on us prior to any government demand on us.  And this has been the story of the martyrs through the centuries."  Watch and share Archbishop Chaput's powerful video on the politics of abortion here.

Catholic Church – True Defender of Women
by Maria Huemmer, Texas Catholic Conference

Who can claim to be a "true" spokesperson for women? I am only being slightly facetious in pointing out that women make up half of the world's population of 7 billion, and even we could not come close to reaching a moderate consensus on how to best protect and magnify our status.

A 'Tribute' to a Great Golf Tournament

A hearty thank you to all our golfers and sponsors who participated in the 12th Annual CPLC Golf Classic / Bishop’s Cup on Monday, a beautiful day for golf!  We broke all the records at this year’s event held at the premier Tribute Golf Club in The Colony, with the most golfers, the most life-saving proceeds contributed, and for the first time the presentation of the Bishop’s Cup by a bishop!  Auxiliary Bishop Mark Seitz joined us to share some pro-life inspiration and to present the first place trophy to the team of Erv Prince, David Prince and Deacon Sid Little.  Second place winners were Bill Orender, Patrick Orender, Pat Franckhauser and Stephen Newton; and third place went to previous four-time champions Rick Chapman, Eddie Garnett, Bob Montgomery and Nick Rossini.

We are so very grateful to committee members Bill Dowd, Bill Orender, Paul Stanzel and Erv Prince for their part in making this our most successful tournament to date.  We also thank our generous business and individual sponsors for the tournament, and invite you to support them, because they support life!
