Greetings and blessings to each of you during this holiest of weeks! We hope you and your church family will join us in marking Good Friday from 12 noon - 1 p.m. at the Southwestern late-term abortion center (map and directions). Fr. Paul McCormick, O. Cist. will once again lead us in the Pro-Life Stations of the Cross, the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary and a Divine Mercy Chaplet as we unite our sufferings and the sufferings of aborted babies with those of Christ. Also on Good Friday, 39 women will arrive in Dallas, having walked 250 miles from the mega-Planned Parenthood in Houston in remembrance of the 39 years of legalized abortion in America as part of the "Back to Life" movement. All are encouraged to be a part of the crowds welcoming these historic women to Dallas (outside the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse at approximately 9:30 a.m.). An ecumenical revival call for faith and healing from the tragedy of abortion – TheEstherCall – will follow at the Dallas Convention Center (more info here).
As we anticipate the greatest feast day in our Church year, we also offer prayers for the eternal rest of one of our own pro-life "saints," Father Edward Robinson, O.P. Our beloved Father Robinson, 97, the "Patriarch of the Pro-Life Movement in Dallas," peacefully passed through the veil on March 29 at 9:25 p.m., surrounded by family members and friends praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for him. Click here to read more about this amazing servant of God, write a tribute in his honor and/or make a donation in his memory. He will be sorely missed, yet, we give praise and thanks to God for the exemplary life he led and the inspiration he gives to all of us to continue the good fight as he so faithfully fought himself.
As you have likely seen, one of your fellow Parish Pro-Life Coordinators, Angela (Angie) Heiter, will be receiving The 2012 Father Edward Robinson, O.P., Pro-Life Person of the Year Award at The Bishop’s 19th Annual Catholic Pro-Life Dinner on April 14. We are thrilled to be recognizing Angie for her decades of committed service to the unborn as we also honor Fr. Robinson. If you haven't already, be sure to buy your tickets or reserve your parish table for this spectacular event, featuring a performance by and live interview of actor and singer John Schneider. (Purchase your tickets hereby this Thursday, April 5, before the price increases!)
Also in April, please mark your calendars for:
Project Life– new pro-life curriculum, every Tuesday through Apr. 24, St. Joseph
And don't miss the next Quarterly Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting on Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m. - 12 noon at St. Michael the Archangel, 2910 Corn Valley Rd, Grand Prairie. (Remember to please retrieve your two parish Bishop's Dinner yard signs after April 14 to return at the meeting.)
Finally, as we approach the May 29 election primaries, we hope each of you will take advantage of the Faithful Citizenship presentations offered through the CPLC Civic Action Ministry.
