Greetings and blessings to you. I was so glad to see such a wonderful turnout at the Annual CPLC Staff and Volunteer Appreciation Picnic! Special congratulations to St. Ann which raised the most funds in support of the 2013-14 Baby Bank Campaign, and thank you to all the parishes who helped raise funds to support the cause of life at your parishes and through the CPLC’s nine life-saving ministries.
I hope you are enjoying the warmer months with your family and friends. In the midst of summer fun, there are plenty of opportunities to support life and liberty! The Fortnight for Freedom, which began on June 21, will continue through July 4. The CPLC helped plan and promote a wonderful diocesan event at St. Patrick this past Saturday with nearly 150 in attendance. Several parishes are also hosting additional events throughout the two-week period. Parish resources and event listings are available at dallascatholicadvocacy.org. If your parish is planning an event that is not posted, .
With so much going on, it often seems that there are not enough hours in the day. I am constantly doing something, but at the end of the day I often realize that I did not get to all that I needed to accomplish. I am certain that you, too, have had this same experience. Whenever I have such days, I make the commitment of slowing down, taking a deep breath and thanking God for the many things that He has allowed me to do. I recently read a comment that we should “pray without ceasing.” It reminded me that when I have God in my thoughts is when I seem to be more effective, because it is then that He works through me. How wonderful it is when we fill our hearts and our minds with Our Lord! I wish for us all days filled with Him as we labor to protect His gift of life.
May God’s blessings be upon you and your family, as you help to strengthen our commitment to the sanctity of life.
Thanks for all you do for Life,
David Carr Director of Parish Coordination 469-230-9664
