Never in my lifetime have I seen, in the words of Cardinal Mahoney, such a “full frontal attack” on our religious freedom.
As I am sure you have heard in the news, your parish, and our prior communications, we are in an unprecedented battle for our conscience protection placed at risk by a Health and Human Services mandate requiring all employers, including Catholic institutions, to pay for insurance coverage of contraception, abortifacients and sterilization. |Rave Reviews for New Pro-Life Curriculum

Several years ago a partnership began between the CPLC and St. Francis of Assisi Anglican community, grounded in three things: the Gospel of Jesus Christ, fidelity to the teaching authority of the Church, and the sanctity and value of every human life. So when St. Francis Parish Pro-Life Coordinator Kevin McNevins gave the CPLC a copy of a new adult curriculum entitled Project Life, we were encouraged by its potential for Catholic parishioners. It is well thought-out, deeply grounded in Scripture and Church teaching, and organized in a format appealing to the average person. Continue

|Thank you for making The Bishop’s 19th Annual Catholic Pro-Life Dinner, “That They Might Have Life,” a spectacular evening! Bishop Kevin Farrell welcomed nearly 2,000 attendees to our new venue, the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. We paid tribute to our beloved Father Edward Robinson, O.P., the “Patriarch of the Pro-Life Movement in Dallas,” who died on March 29, 2012, at the age of 97, and recognized the recipient of the award named in his honor, The 2012 Father Edward Robinson, O.P., Pro-Life Person of the Year, Angela Heiter. |“Life” Filled Dallas Downtown
The 2012 Roe Memorial Events on January 21 were once again a remarkable day for Life, offering prayers for the 52 million lives lost to the tragedy of abortion and marching and rallying for a Culture of Life – this year with yellow “LIFE” balloons in celebration of the many victories over the past year. The morning began with a Jericho walk around Routh Street abortion center, with Bishop Seitz joining in prayer.
During this time, an abortion-minded woman chose life for her baby! Continue
|Fortnight for Freedom
In April, the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a document, “Our First, Most Cherished Liberty,” outlining the bishops’ concerns over threats to religious freedom . . .The U.S. Bishops also called for a “Fortnight for Freedom,” a 14-day period of prayer, education and action in support of religious freedom, from June 21-July 4. The Diocese of Dallas is joining dioceses nationwide in events highlighting the importance of defending our religious freedom. Continue
