Dear Friend of Life,
Greetings from Jacquelyn Smith, Youth For Life Director for the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas, and Sue Laux, Youth For Life Coordinator for the Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Fort Worth.
Pro-Life Boot Camp is a unique summer camp for high school students offering Total Pro-Life Immersion. This year’s theme is “Roe v. Wade: 40 Years of Broken Promises.” To mark this 40th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade Decision, we will be having an amazing slate of speakers, including the Theology of the Body Evangelization Team (TOBET) (Sessions 1 &2), Praise and Worship led by Marcellino and Anthony D’Ambrosio (Sessions 1 & 2), and the Pro-Life Movie “Crescendo” (Sessions 1 &2).
We are in need of college students, ages 18-20, to be Junior Staff for Pro-Life Boot Camp. As Jr. Staff, college students learn leadership skills and how to run a pro-life camp, as well as gain valuable youth ministry and pro-life activism experience. During camp, Jr. Staff assist with providing the high school students with opportunities for fellowship with like-minded youth, daily Mass, praise and worship, prayer time at local abortion centers, and creating and performing fun pro-life skits. Jr. Staff receive training and assist with set-up on the day prior to camp.
Jr. Staff applications are due by June 5th. Applicants must have Safe Environment clearance from their parish or diocese. Jr. Staff may work either Session 1 or 2 or both. Session 1 will be June 28 – 30 and Session 2 will be July 26 – 30. Jr. Staff must arrive one day early for training and camp set-up. Jr. Staff fees for the camp are $95.00 for Session 1 or $165.00 for Session 2, to be paid only once the applicant has been accepted.
Youth (ages 14-17 and entering grades 9-12), Jr. Staff (ages 18-20), and Chaperones (age 21+) may register or apply online at prolifedallas.org/bootcamp. For those traveling by plane, we can make arrangements for pick-up from the DFW or Dallas Love Field airports.
Please forward this message and invite everyone who may be interested to participate in Pro-Life Boot Camp. Thank you so much for all the hard work that you do in your diocese or school to build a Culture of Life!
P.S. Maybe you or your students can’t come this year, but you would like to make a donation to the Pro-Life Boot Camp. It is only through the generosity of our donors that we are able to make Pro-Life Boot Camp a success.
