Starvin’ for Justice Annual Fast and Vigil to Abolish the Death Penalty

Thursday, June 28, 2012

June 28 - July 2: Vigil: 8:30 am to 6 pm daily; Teach-ins: 6 p.m. to 8:00 pm daily; rally on June 29 at noon, U.S. Supreme Court, One First Street NE, Washington, DC. The four-day fast and vigil takes place on the sidewalk in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, as activists from across the U.S. and Canada join together for public education and outreach on the death penalty. This year, in 2012, will mark 40th anniversary of the Furman v. Georgia decision in which the U.S. Supreme Court found the death penalty to be applied in an arbitrary and capricious manner. More information and registration available at abolition.org.

Sponsored by The Abolitionist Action Committee.

Those who cannot attend the D.C. events are welcome to support this effort locally through prayer and fasting. For more information and Church teaching concerning the death penalty, please visit prolifedallas.org/deathpenalty.
