After an abortion, a woman typically experiences deep emotional and spiritual pain. Regardless of their role, men often suffer as well with feelings of unresolved anger, grief and guilt. Women and men may carry the burden of a past abortion in silence for years, sometimes engaging in further harmful behaviors in an effort to deny its reality. Though faith may assure them that God forgives those who seek His forgiveness, they often struggle to fully accept it.
The CPLC's Healing after Abortion ministry offers healing to anyone who has been hurt by an abortion experience through the sacraments, retreats, support groups and referrals to professional counseling. The ministry also provides training for clergy and mental health professionals. It also networks with counselors and other providers of post-abortion expertise.
If you or someone you know is suffering from a past abortion, we can help.
