Dear Friends of Life,
We are delighted to announce the selection of Kris Kramer as the new Executive Director of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas. Kris joins us from the Pastoral Center where she managed the Bishop Farrell Invitational Golf Tournament since its inception, raising over 2 million dollars for tuition assistance to families most in need in the Diocese of Dallas.
In addition to her work for the Diocese, Kris has extensive non-profit experience including serving Catholic Charities of Dallas as board chair and founding member of the Angels of Charity, as well as the Dallas Holocaust Museum -- chairing the Hope for Humanity Dinner, Jesuit College Prep, St. Ann Finance Council and St. Rita RCIA program, and currently serves on the board of the Dallas Legatus Chapter for Catholic leaders.
Some of you may have met Kris when she emceed the Christ Child Luncheon and shared her personal connection to this ministry as a mother of three with her husband Matt -- her youngest Kevin who is adopted, her son Joey who is recently married with one daughter, and her firstborn Louis who went home to the Lord at the age of two. Kris's personal and professional experiences have readied her for the challenge of helming this mission.
Upon joining our ministry, Kris shared, "I am humbled by this opportunity and excited about the journey ahead, promoting respect for life throughout North Texas and beyond. Today these efforts are more critical than ever in the face of mounting threats to life from conception until natural death. I look forward to joining the wonderful CPLC staff and many devoted supporters, as together we work to save lives and transform hearts."
Kris will be building on the two-decade foundation of respect life ministry in this diocese under the leadership of founding Executive Director Karen Garnett who will continue to work for our organization as an ambassador of the mission.
In the words of Saint John Paul II, the pro-life mission is "the most important work on earth," and with God's grace and your continued support, we are confident that we have found the right leader to help us all write the next chapter of this important work. Please join me in welcoming Kris to the CPLC family.
