Roe Memorial Rosary, Mass and Dallas Rally & March for Life with Bishops Kevin Farrell & Kevin Vann
7:30 a.m.: Board buses at the Cathedral for the Roe Memorial Rosary, to be prayed at Routh Street abortion center this year, 4321 Central Expy. at Fitzhugh.
10:00 a.m.: Roe Memorial Mass & Adoration, followed by Dallas Rally & March for Life, marking the 37th anniversary of the tragic January 22, 1973, Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in America. In memory of the more than 50 million babies who have died and in prayer for the mothers and fathers who have been hurt by abortion, a bilingual Mass will be concelebrated by the Most Reverend Kevin J. Farrell, Bishop of Dallas, the Most Reverend Bishop Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Fort Worth, and diocesan clergy at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave. at Pearl St., Dallas. Music will be led by Curtis Stephan.
A representative born each year from 1973-present is needed to carry a rose in the annual “Procession of Roses” at Mass. Following Mass will be Eucharistic Adoration and the ecumenical Dallas Rally & March for Life to the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse where the Roe v. Wade case was first filed in 1970. Don’t miss this annual event for Life! Last year, 5,000 prayed and marched for life. Bishop Farrell challenged everyone to “double it” in 2010 – so, “Bring a friend to make it 10 in ’10!” – 10,000 praying and marching for life on January 16, 2010! Bishop Farrell would especially like to see many young people participating – from parish youth groups, Catholic high schools, Scout troops, etc. Bring your school, club or troop banner for the march!
