Can you believe it, Friend?  It's already time to start planning for the fall 40 Days for Life - Dallas campaign. We are so excited to see what God has planned for us as we petition Him for an end to abortion here in Dallas. All praise be to our awesome God, who has brought thousands of prayer volunteers from all over North Texas to pray outside of the abortion centers at our previous peaceful 40 Days for Life - Dallas prayer vigils. So far, nationally more than 215,000 people in 240 cities have participated in this life-changing event - and we know of at least 1,561 lives that have been saved from abortion.

40 Days for Life saves lives through: Prayer and Fasting for an end to abortion, Peaceful Vigil outside abortion centers, and Community Outreach to spread the message that life is sacred.

The 40 Days for Life - Dallas Vigil will be held outside Robinson's abortion center, 1929 Record Crossing, Mondays-Saturdays from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Today, I want to ask you though, what is God calling you to do to end the killing of his precious little ones?

40 Days for Life is primarily a local campaign. Yes, there is a national team that provides information, resources and encouragement, but all campaigns are based at the local level. Each community knows best when it comes to countering the damage abortion has caused in each individual city and town.

The campaign is also a group effort. There needs to be a main coordinator, but there is a whole level of duties and responsibilities that must be filled in addition to the director's position:

* Prayer coordinator
* Vigil coordinator
* Outreach coordinator
* Event coordinator
* Church coordinator
* Communications coordinator
* And possibly others, depending on our local needs.

A line from Scripture comes to mind: "Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will." Please pray for discernment and guidance. 40 Days for Life won't happen without somebody; that "somebody" could be you!

So, I want you to first, pray. And if after praying, you feel that God is calling you to do more to end abortion here locally, I invite you to attend our first leadership team meeting next Friday, July 17, at 6:00 p.m. at the Catholic Pro-Life Committee office, 14200 Midway, Suite 120, Dallas.

I hope to see you there, and know that I will be praying that God speaks clearly to you,  as to what role he would like you to have in this year's campaign.
