Capitol Advocacy Training

Saturday, February 9, 2013 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location(s): University of Dallas, 1845 E. Northgate Dr., Irving 75062

Join the Texas Pro-Life Action Team on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 for the first in its Capitol Training series. The series of trainings will focus on raising a grass-roots army of pro-lifers and training them to become more engaged in the work of the Texas Legislature.

Training will start at 9:00 am on the campus of the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. The Crusaders for Life, the pro-life club at the University, will be our hosts.

This training is co-sponosored by the Texas Alliance For Life (TAL) and TAL Executive Director Dr. Joe Pojman will be a keynote speaker.

The last Texas Legislative session (2011) was one of the most pro-life on record, but the next one is coming and instead of resting on our laurels, we are taking the fight to the enemy and ensuring that as many pro-life voices as possible are united in the great goal of ending abortion in Texas.

In this training, we will teach you to become involved in the work of the Texas Legislature, what pro-life bills we can expect to see, how the state political process works and how to talk (and lobby) with your elected officials. We will also provide opportunities for you to come to Austin on a regular basis during the Session to continue to press for the rights of the unborn.

These elected officials need the constant pressure of a relentless grassroots to ensure they vote the right way. It is the voice of the grass-roots that made the defunding of Planned Parenthood and passage of the nations toughest sonogram bill possible. The pressure has been great, but it needs to increase!
