In pro-life matters, as in all things, education holds the key to change. As Hosea 4:6 says, "My people perish for want of knowledge." Many are perishing, victims of the misinformation about human growth and development, abortion, euthanasia, population control, capital punishment, and human cloning.
Each year, the Speakers Bureau gives presentations to hundreds of youths and adults at no cost in parishes and parish schools on a variety of life-related topics, including chastity, fetal development, post-abortion trauma, contraception, and pro-life activism. Trained volunteers in all professions — including homemakers and students — give the most current information in the most effective ways. The presentations are accurate, motivating, and in full accord with Church teaching.
A popular Speakers Bureau feature is the Chastity Seminar, which invites parents and teens to examine God's gift of sexuality and embrace its proper use as part of His plan. The ministry has also developed a Respect Life Curriculum that has been reviewed by the Diocese and deemed a valuable tool for use in parochial schools and CCD programs. In educating our Catholic youth, we are passing the pro-life torch to the next generation.
