John and Dorothy O'Dwyer

Honorary Chairs

We are thrilled to announce that John and Dorothy O'Dwyer are the Honorary Chairs of the 26th Annual Bishop's Pro-Life Dinner.

Dorothy and John, originally Chicago area natives, moved to Plano in 1983 and have been members of St Elizabeth Ann Seton for over 35 years, with brief breaks to live in Germany and China. They are the parents of four children and grandparents of nine.

Dorothy and John have been involved at Seton in various ministries over the years, including CCD religious education and as Eucharist Ministers. Dorothy has previously been an active volunteer for Bryan’s House and My Friend’s Place and is currently active in Bereavement and Nursing Home Ministries at Seton. John has previously served on the United Way of Dallas Board, the International Myeloma Foundation Board, and is currently President of the Board of Bella House, a maternity home for homeless pregnant women. They are also on the Steering Committee of the Circle of Friends at UT Southwestern, providing seed money for basic medical research.

They are strong believers in supporting the various non-profit work of the Catholic Church.  They believe every child has the right to life. They support the Catholic-Pro-Life Committee's mission to help women facing difficult life decisions to transform their lives and those of their children through a hand up. In their words, “We need to help these courageous women who choose life with support, education and prayers, and CPLC certainly achieves that.”
